1. Willka Hampi - Calca, Peru

What is the project

The Willka Hampi community is located in the Sacred Andean Valley in Peru, near Pisac, 25 minutes the nearest city. The project, which is under development, is a training center for leaders for a new ecological movement. They receive up to six volunteers at a time and offer a program called “Sacred Wheel Program”, about ancestral traditions, philosophy of worldview and leadership.

What activities can you do

Among the tasks available at Willlka Hampi are the harvesting of plants with medicinal properties and the preparation of natural remedies, the artisanal preparation of kefir and kombucha, help in cooking vegetarian dishes and ecological construction.

Participation fee

This host asks for a minimum donation of USD 95 per week to cover the expenses of his stay and allow the organization to offer its services free of charge to low-income Peruvians and indigenous peoples.

What you get in return

In addition to accommodation in rooms shared with the rest of the team, with access to hot showers, you will be entitled to three vegetarian meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and two days off per week.

Traveler Reviews

The project has an average rating of 4.5 stars. The Uruguayan Worldpacker Cecilia went to participate for a week and decided to stay another month, having stressed that "it takes some time to adapt, but the experience is beautiful, the place is wonderful and so are the people".

The Brazilian Ana Laura also enjoyed the experience, saying that the place is very beautiful, the view to the mountains is incredible and the work is hard, but allows you to learn a lot about permaculture and bioconstruction: "My experience was very good, I will come back more often to this place that stayed in my heart ", he said.
